PocketBAS ("we," "our," or "us") is a field reference and productivity app for Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) technicians and building engineers, published by PocketBAS LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. What we do collect:

• Account & subscription information: If you subscribe to PocketBAS Pro, we (or our payment processor) collect the email address and payment details necessary to manage your subscription.
• Payment information: Payments are processed securely by Stripe (for web/direct subscriptions) or Apple/Google (for in-app purchases). We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
• Usage analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate app usage (e.g. which features are used), which does not identify you personally.
• AI Field Assistant queries: If you use the AI Field Assistant feature, your questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. We do not attach your name or account identity to these queries beyond what's needed to return a response to your device.

Information Stored Only On Your Device

Your I/O Checkout reports, job data, and point lists are stored locally on your device using your browser or app's local storage. This data is not uploaded to or stored on our servers — it stays on your device unless you choose to export or share a report yourself (e.g. as a PDF).

How We Use Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the App
• To process subscription payments and verify Pro access
• To respond to support requests
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve features

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchase billing on native apps
• Anthropic — AI Field Assistant response generation
• Vercel — app hosting and analytics

Data Retention

We retain account and subscription information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to comply with legal or tax obligations. Locally stored report data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You may also cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, Stripe customer portal, or the App Store/Play Store subscription management screen.

Children's Privacy

PocketBAS is a professional trade tool intended for building automation technicians and engineers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
